Our Little Walker

Well, it's about time that I give a little update on Erin! It has been so exciting these last couple of months as she has hit some much celebrated milestones. While we have, in the past, celebrated seven children in our family taking their first steps, we have never been so elated as we were with Erin. There is an extra joy that comes with that extra chromosome. When it comes to mastering specific skills, sometimes long in the making, we are filled with such pride. Maybe it's because the milestones are spread out more than the accomplishments of typical kids. Maybe it's because she work a little harder to get there. Maybe it's because there are so many cheerleaders coaxing the new-found skills along, that we feel we are an intimate part of that accomplishment, and therefore the celebration. There are probably many more reasons, but I will sum it up by saying this: Parenting a special needs child is SO underrated! We experience such joy watching Erin grow and touch the hearts of others.

You should see her now! She's walking room to room and discovering that there are so many new things to get into that she never knew existed before! Our little Happy, as my husband calls her, is growing up and charming us each step of the way.

We had to move!!!

Due to the fact that we had some technical troubles on our other blog, like we could never change the background, we had to move to this new page. We have left the old page up there in order for people to be able to go back and read what we had written if they want to. However, this will be our new location. We will keep both of them linked.
